Data We Collect
Account Information
Name, email address, date of birth, gender, photos, and profile details you provide during registration.
Personality & Behavioral Data
Your responses to personality training scenarios, behavioral patterns within the app, compatibility preferences, and AI-generated personality dimensions.
Usage & Behavioral Data
How you interact with the App — matches viewed, messages sent, features used, session duration, and in-app actions.
Location Data
Approximate location (city-level) used for matching. Precise location is never collected without explicit consent and is never stored permanently.
Device Information
Device type, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, and crash/diagnostic data to improve performance.
AI Features Disclosure
Compatra uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power several core features:
- •Personality Matching — AI analyzes your scenario responses to compute compatibility scores across 27 personality dimensions.
- •Safety Screening — Automated content moderation to detect harmful behavior and protect our community.
- •Date Sparks & Icebreakers — Personalized conversation starters and date ideas generated from shared interests.
AI outputs are used to enhance your experience. No AI system makes final decisions about account actions without human review.
We Never Sell Your Data
Compatra does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. Your personality data, messages, and behavioral information exist solely to improve your matching experience within the App.
Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)
Whether you are a California resident under the CCPA or an EU/EEA resident under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Deletion
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Correction
Update or correct inaccurate personal information.
Portability
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Opt-Out
Opt out of non-essential data processing and marketing communications.
Non-Discrimination
Exercise your rights without receiving discriminatory treatment.

Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance). Anonymized, aggregate data may be retained indefinitely for research and product improvement.
